King Tut Drive-In is a locally owned business located on Eisenhower Drive in Beckley, West Virginia. King Tut Drive-In originated in the early 1940s and is one of few old-fashioned drive-ins around.

King Tut Drive-In has remained popular through the years because of the hospitality and high quality, homestyle food. A barbecue sandwich isn't just a sandwich, but is made from an award-winning recipe. Customers can enjoy a meatloaf sandwich on a homemade bun with toppings of your choice. The choices don't stop there. You can choose from homemade soups, full dinners, several sandwiches, pizza, milkshakes and delicious homemade pies.

It is hard to find a drive-in restaurant with so many options to suit every taste. You can pull up under the drive-in awning and place your order or call ahead and pick your order up.

Hank Williams, Sr. Memorial Bridge

"Hank Williams, Sr. Memorial Bridge" is named for the legendary and one of the greatest country songwriters and singers in the world.

On the night of December 31, 1952, Hank Williams crossed this bridge, shortly before his death. The bridge is located off I-77, Athens Exit 14 Bluefield, WV. Somewhere in route between Knoxville, TN on December 31, 1952 and January 1, 1953 to Oak Hill, the life of Hank Williams, Sr. came to an end.

Exactly why and exactly where Hank Williams, Sr. died, remains a mystery. He died at the tender age of 29 and it's been said he died from a broken heart. But, more than anything he left a legacy of his life and love for country music behind.

Brad Paisley is one of today's top country singers and is from Glen Dale, West Virginia. He was destined for country music from a young age as his grandfather gave him his first guitar at the age of 8. By 10 years old Brad could play pretty well and could accompany himself while singing.

Brad wrote his first song at the age of 12 and also sang in church and several community events. His first band was Brad Paisley and the C-Notes. Upon urging, Brad went to Nashville and transferred to Belmont University. He liked what he saw in Nashville. Brad made connections and the rest is history. He's one of my favorite country singers. He has heart. He has talent and his roots lie within the mountains of West Virginia. You make West Virginia proud, Brad!

See the Unbelievable - "Mystery Hole" at Ansted, WV

Is believing seeing or seeing believing? A visit to "Mystery Hole", located at Ansted, West Virginia, may leave you feeling as if you've traveled back to the 70's. A Volkswagon Beetle cut in half, appears as if it's driving out of the corrugated Quonset metal hut. American flags fly overhead, while teardrop, star, question mark and swirl patterns adorn the exterior of this mysterious place. You may even feel you've entered the "twilight zone" as you walk through the underground rooms, which hold a world of mystery and are said to defy gravity.

Outside this unusual hut are signs that say..."Wow", "See the Unbelievable" and "Mystery Hole". Visitors aren't disappointed with the many attractions inside. A tour guide will take you down a long flight of stairs into the unknown, as you listen to the story of the discovery of this mysterious place. "Mystery Hole" astounds both young and old alike.

There are visual jokes and horrors, along with skeletons and even a black-light room. A section has water, which appears to flow upward and the tour guide sits in a chair on the wall, suspended only with a small strip of wood. You'll get the impression of gravity gone haywire as nothing you see (or feel) stands to reason.
The secrets of "Mystery Hole" aren't revealed by the owners and the effects may be different for each person. But, the experience is never forgotten. Some people visit the attraction more than once in an attempt to figure it out. Many wonder if their eyes are playing tricks on them. Some give up their attempt and simply enjoy entering a world of the unexpected and unexplained.

"Mystery Hole" is located in Fayette County, at Ansted, West Virginia and only minutes away from the beautiful and scenic Hawk's Nest State park. There is also a gift shop with a variety of souvenirs to commemorate your memorable experience. Guided tours through "Mystery Hole" take approximately 15 - 20 minutes and they are on a first come, first serve basis. Group tours are also available by scheduling in advance. Months of operation are April through October. The gift shop is open during the same hours as the tour hours.

West Virginia is a beautiful state full of mountains and stunning scenery - nature at its finest. "Mystery Hole" isn't among the stunning scenery, but certainly an attraction worth visiting.

Flat Top Wilderness Chalet

If you're looking for a comfortable place to stay while visiting southern West Virginia and want an atmosphere that makes you feel at home, Flat Top Wilderness Chalet may be the place for you.

The chalet has four bedrooms and on the ground floor there is a master bedroom. On the second floor there are three bedrooms.

The living room is spacious and offers a television with cable and a dvd/vcr. If extra accommodations are needed, the couch pulls out to make a queen size bed.

The kitchen is fully furnished with a refrigerator, stove and microwave for ease in making home cooked meals.
